Making Money On Squidoo

I am officially making money on Squidoo!

It’s really an awesome feeling! Did I make a lot, not really. Last month it showed a couple dollars, and this month it was just over $10, which was sent to me via Paypal. But, it’s an awesome start. I have been a member on there for 3 months, and I’m stoked about that. What is the best part about it for me is having it in effect working for me now, even while I sleep.

I am very inspired by some lens masters who are doing quite well. Today was payday, so some others posted about how they were paid. It was mine and another members’ first official payday.

The way this happened is that some of my lenses are Tier 2 and 3 lenses, so they split a percentage of the advertisement revenue with lens masters who have lenses within the top 3 tiers.

Now, I don’t want to make it sound like I didn’t work for this. I have spent a good number of hours building and also adding to my lenses, ALOT, and in most people’s eyes, probably way too much for only $10, but I don’t see it like that at all. I see them continually doing better, getting more traffic etc. Down the road, there could potentially be a month where I don’t have time to put into my lenses, and they may still earn money, which would just be awesome!!

It feels like I am starting to reap the benefits of my online venture, and I reached one of the goals I set for myself, which was to have multiple streams of income.

I am in this for the long term, so I am not worried about how much time I spent for the return. The return could go on for a year or more, which is more than enough for me.

I wasn’t having the best start to the day, as I was dealing with an issue, but I did my best to keep in as good as a place as I could, and then soon after, I discovered this, which helped me to turn my day around, after a not so perfect start.

We all have those days, and I think what counts is what we decide to do when we realize it’s not going perfect, how do we react?

My First Clickbank Sale!

I took a look at my Clickbank account today, and was pleased to find that someone had purchased a product that I purchased myself, so I made a commission.

I find this awesome because that was the second product I purchased in beginning, yet I was more excited about this than the previous one.

I am not of the belief that there is just one Holy Grail product out there, that rules them all. I believe they are all a bit different, and someone can succeed through choosing one which really resonates for them, and really following through with each step that is suggested.

From what I have learned, in my time since committing to internet marketing, is that many people don’t take all of the suggested actions, and that the individuals who do, always succeed at some level.

So, the Clickbank Secret Code was what started me into this venture, and I am happy to think of someone else perhaps going through what I was.

If they are aware of Joe Vitale, I think they will be pleased with it, as he really explains in depth what exactly what you are getting into on his sales page, even revealing quite a bit of information before you have done anything aside listen to him or read the page.

Well, that was my first of many updates :) I know at this point that I truly am going to succeed online. Not because I saw one sale, I have been cultivating that belief.

Cool Blogs

I have been taking a look around to see what other bloggers are doing on their blogs.

Half of me now wishes I hadn’t sue to the whole overwhelming aspect of seeing blogs that are just loaded with all sorts of amazing information, and years of posts and comments.

Some of the blogs have comments disabled, and here I am appreciating when I receive even one comment.

I must hand it to them in their designs, information etc. I wonder how I will ever design mine like them. Then I remember that whenever I have started learning about any topic, it’s always like this.

My car for instance. When I started researching the type of car that I have now, so much of it was like a foreign language. That was just the terminology. Then I would see some of the work some people had done to their cars and think, I will never be able to accomplish a fraction of that, or even know where to start.

A number of years later, I have had not only every question and curiosity answered, and then some.

Looking back now, I could not even comprehend all that I have learned about my car.

So I can assume blogging will be the same.

Heck, even 3 months ago when I started, I couldn’t imagine how I would even have a blog like this.

Ahh, I feel better now :)

Sometimes this is like therapy for me honestly. I started this blog off as a bit of an online diary, to follow my progress.

Then I have started to see a sliver of potential here. I see myself learning a good deal over a period of time, and then I will be able to help other people with areas I have gone through, and then they can go back and see my original posts, and hopefully relate to what I went through, and get past the discouragement and overwhelmment that will unquestionably arise once they delve deep into the world of the internet, with aspirations of some semblance of success with a blog, or another online business.

ET – The Hip Hop Preacher

This is what I have been using off and on all day, a certain recording by ET, The Hip Hop Preacher. I have been playing this video in the background a good portion of the day today.

This may seem unproductive, or not, but it is what I felt compelled to do today, and that is my guidance. Something about this version, with the music, the athlete training just pumps me up, and I love the inspiration he expresses!

Steve Jobs

I am quite blown away by him. I just had no idea. To be honest, I had heard the name, mostly recently, as I have delved into the internet and creating my own business, and had heard of him.

I saw the influx of posts about him, and was just flattered by some.

I am going to put up a few items that circled around Facebook, that blew me away.

Steve Jobs gave this as his second story of his Commencement Address at Stanford University on June 12, 2005.

I was lucky. I found what I loved to do early in life. Woz and I started Apple in my parents garage when I was 20. We worked hard, and in 10 years Apple had grown from just the two of us in a garage into a $2 billion company with over 4000 employees. We had just released our finest creation – the Macintosh – a year earlier, and I had just turned 30. And then I got fired. How can you get fired from a company you started?

Well, as Apple grew we hired someone who I thought was very talented to run the company with me, and for the first year or so things went well. But then our visions of the future began to diverge and eventually we had a falling out. When we did, our Board of Directors sided with him. So at 30 I was out. And very publicly out. What had been the focus of my entire adult life was gone, and it was devastating.

I really didn’t know what to do for a few months. I felt that I had let the previous generation of entrepreneurs down – that I had dropped the baton as it was being passed to me. I met with David Packard and Bob Noyce and tried to apologize for screwing up so badly. I was a very public failure, and I thought about running away from the valley. But something slowly began to dawn on me – I still loved what I did. The turn of events at Apple had not changed that one bit. I had been rejected, but I was still in love. And so I decided to start over.

I didn’t see it then, but it turned out that getting fired from Apple was the best thing that could have ever happened to me. The heaviness of being successful was replaced by the lightness of being a beginner again, less sure about everything. It freed me to enter one of the most creative periods of my life.

During the next five years, I started a company named NeXT, another company named Pixar, and fell in love with an amazing woman who would become my wife. Pixar went on to create the worlds first computer animated feature film, Toy Story, and is now the most successful animation studio in the world. In a remarkable turn of events, Apple bought NeXT.

I returned to Apple, and the technology we developed at NeXT is at the heart of Apple’s current renaissance. And Laurene and I have a wonderful family together.

I’m pretty sure none of this would have happened if I hadn’t been fired from Apple.It was awful tasting medicine, but I guess the patient needed it. Sometimes life hits you in the head with a brick. Don’t lose faith. I’m convinced that the only thing that kept me going was that I loved what I did. You’ve got to find what you love. And that is as true for your work as it is for your lovers.

Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking.

Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it. And, like any great relationship, it just gets better and better as the years roll on. So keep looking until you find it. Don’t settle.

Think and Grow Rich Secret

I have discovered Napoleon Hill’s secret master key from his book Think and Grow Rich.

It is an elusive ghost, and I had done some research for it, and there are a number of opinions on this subject, so I will add, that this is the answer for me.

I love his salesmanship with the whole book, and how it leaves people still wondering about it decades after the book was released.

In case you haven’t read Think and Grow Rich, I highly recommend that, or at the very least researching his success principles, which can be found on YouTube.

Some say that the original version has been dummed down from the original copy, so I find listening to Napoleon himself speak about it to be pretty profound.

So, the secret master key is…drumroll… in the title itself.

That’s right, the master key to success in which he seductively eludes to over and over is a foundation in the power of the mind.

If this is something which you have never thought of with ‘your mind’, go back over some of it, especially the beginning, or even watch the video above.

You notice his pronounced emphasis on the power of the mind. I love how he laid it out, hiding it in plain sight, by suggesting that you ‘may or may not receive the master key’, depending on whether you are ready to receive it.

Thanks Tony Robbins For The Awesome Day!

I had this pretty awesome day today, and I spent the majority of it listening to Tony Robbins.

The video above hit me pretty hard.

I have known of him for a long time, and for no reason, haven’t listened to his material very much, other than my post within the last week. I’m pretty blown away by him at the moment. I literally couldn’t stop watching his videos.

I have been around the block and back again with all kinds of inspirational, motivational, spiritual books all the other related materials. Years ago I was going crazy through Wayne Dyer’s books, Deepak Chopra, and many others.

From what I know, you would think I would be one of those authorities myself, but within the past 2 years, I had a huge realization strike me.

I know all of this, but I haven’t been applying it, in action.

Recently I was talking about this kind of thing, and our hang ups, and why some of us are hung up, when others thrive, and how our knowledge seems to have little impact.

Studying the mechanics of success is something that has always fascinated me, along with what makes people happy, how their spiritual lives impact their daily lives etc.

My realization about myself, is pretty much what Tony Robbins drill home, I haven’t done what they say as much as I know what to do.

When this hit me within the past 2 years, I set out to put the things I know into actual practice. It’s kind of a no brainer, but we’re all on our path, and that has been mine.

I went through loads of Law of Attraction stuff primarily, and the glaring aspect I noticed, without my own knowledge, is how I have these subtle negative trains of thought.

I am blown away how that was able to go on below my radar all along, as I have always felt myself a positive thinker.

Well, I have been working on that one, and today something was bothering me this morning. Only 3 hours of sleep didn’t help either, but there it was.

I was in my routine, deciding what to do, and decided to take in some learning information from people in the internet field, pretty spontaneously.

Something drew me to Frank Kern, particularly this article that I took a lot out of, about you being the real guru.

Then I followed up with some Frank Kern video research, and I saw a couple of him with Tony Robbins.

That gave Frank some pretty good credibility to me, as I don;t know anything about him, and I became a bit of a fan of his after a few videos.

Then I was pulled into looking up some Tony Robbins videos. Once I saw some of the people he has helped, such as Andre Agassi, Serena Williams, Bill Clinton etc., that made me even more intrigued.

Well, listening to Tony lifted me right out of my funk, and into feeling pretty amazing. One thing I have habitually done in the past is eventually tell myself that I am using it as a crutch, and that I should be able to lift myself up without any crutch.

One aspect I noticed that seemed synonymous for them all is how they all spent periods of constantly listening to CD’s and recordings of their teachers, and it clicked. It’s that simple really, this feels great, keep on doing it.

There is a simplicity to this all, that keeps occurring to me more and more deeply. Tony encompassed much of what I have learned, and summed it all up in his own way, with plenty of aspects that I haven’t heard before.

That being said, I am deciding right now ti implement this, as with Tony, I am deciding to refuse certain aspects of my current life, from here on, and moving towards my goals, with lots of brain training.

I need to train my brain, along with the massive action I have been taking, or else I will be taking more action than is needed, and as he reiterates, 80% of it is in our psychology.

I really enjoyed this video, especially with his incantations, whic I will be implementing. I am glad to be typing this out, as a commitment to action.

Sue And Steve Show

The Sue and Steve show was one of the initial inspirations I had in getting into this online venture.

If you are looking to upgrade to an SSD or Biger Hard Disc Drive.

I met them on a forum based on The Law of Attraction, called Powerful Intentions, here is my page, where like minded people share with each other, which is a great community.

I didn’t know very much about Sue or Steve aside that they were active contributors to the community, constantly reaching out to people with helpful insights, and sharing some of their own.

So, at one point, I noticed they started an online business, based on entreprenuerial internet marketing, social media and all that is related.

I wasn’t following them, but one day I decided to watch their launch video, which was based on becoming a millionaire online.

Who’s attention doesn’t get grabbed by that?

Although at the time it seemed a bit more of an impossible pipe dream for me, yet I watched it anyway. I loved their down to earth approach about it all, and since then, I have been inspired by that video.

There is an element in their approach where I felt like, if they can do that, maybe I can, but I have never made videos like that etc. (still haven’t).

I remembered it though, as that is something I think I could handle, and I thought the idea was awesome! Following their progress, and their whole intention.

which I looked at and took out my mental notepad, as I like it’s set up.

Now, I talk with Steve personally via Facebook from time to time, usually in quick comments. He has a great facebook page, Steve Soucy Facebook page  always filled with the best quotes, where I turn whenever I need to read some inspiring stuff.

The cool thing is that Steve has reached out to me personally to help me along, as he caught wind of my online venture.

Every so often he lights a flame under my ass, and says he would like to help me along.

I had said up front that I can’t afford something like that, and that I am trying to stick with a method and not veer too far off track.

He shrugged that off and said he would still enjoy helping if he could.

How cool is that?

With him doing that as a paid occupation, he is still helping someone like me when he has a moment.

Well, he was a bit more forward with me tonight, and sent me some awesome ideas, and insists I get on Skype haha. I will follow up with more on that as it develops.

Steve, if you read this, I appreciate the push!

So, the ambitious, awesome entrepreneurs that Sue and Steve are, they jumped on board an awesome looking product, that I am thinking would be a good thing to be a part of at some point as well.

I have heard of it, it’s called Body By Vi, yet I haven’t taken much of a look at it before.

Well, they sent out their own video on it, which again, I think is awesome!

That being said, I mention them because they were instrumental in my being inspired a few years ago, and are active in my life now, asking me nothing in return.

Made an Amazon Sale on Squidoo

Made my first Amazon sale on Squidoo today!

*There is a reason that the picture above is pennies.

The time finally came where I woke up in the morning, logged into Squidoo, and noticed I had 60 extra points, for selling three items.

The interesting is that it was 3 bracelets that sold, from my racing games lens.

Well, I wasn’t complaining, and the cool thing is how that made it all real.

I have been working pretty hard on my Squidoo pages over the past two months since I signed up, and eventually you start hearing about lens masters earning money for items sold, and shared revenue etc.

Initially, I wanted a cool place to see where I could go with expressing my thoughts and things I am passionate about, but then I started to realize that these lenses are really aimed at people who aren’t members of Squidoo, with a big emphasis on sales, and search engine traffic.

I think everyone is a bit timid to admit monetary motivations being a primary factor for them being there, within the community at least, although it is the pink elephant in the room.

There is a big emphasis on content and lens quality, yet if one wants to monetize a lens, consideration for outside visitors needs be taken into consideration. If the visitors are like me, 99% of the time, when I come across an encyclopedia, and I’m not in the researching mood, I will skim over it if I even stay on the page.

So I have started sort of mentally categorizing my lenses, some for long winded passionate encyclopedias, well maybe not that extreme, and others more geared towards a sales lens, and that part can be pretty fun.

Just the challenge of seeing what works etc., and when someone actually purchases something, the feeling is pretty rewarding, in spite the fact that they certainly didn’t arrive at a car racing video game lens with hopes of finding bracelets.

Anyways, I’m pretty pumped to make a sale!

Technology Rant

Can you believe the speed of technology these days?

Alot of it affects those of us involved with internet marketing.

It also affects the internet over all, and I suspect the majority out there is involved with the internet already.

I just finished a Squidoo lens, on the new Apple TV and was a bit blown away from this thing.

I can’t believe all the features, as I have had an eye on the whole Blockbuster vs. Netflix ordeal.

It appears that in the meantime, Apple, among others have been doing their homework, and have come up with their own versions of Netflix, with bells and whistles.

When I have time I am going to do an estimated budget with these and decide which is best for us.

Then there is the big Google vs. Facebook battle going on, SSD Drives  are wiping out hard disc drives, and then computers themselves are moving so fast, with the innovations happening in that area with processors and everything.

I am also learning about all of this and making lenses on Squidoo  about them, and it’s really quite fascinating. Now I want some of these upgraded components myself.

Anyways, I just felt a technology rant coming on, not a huge one, but there it is. Now I will get back to incorporating all of this into my internet marketing.
